About

Minister Kavetta Freese

Visionary & Founder

 FOUNDER.

Kavetta Freese founded Women Hallowed in Prayer (W.H.I.P.) in 2003 with God’s mandate to usher His daughters into bonded relationships that exhibit respect, trust, and compassion towards one another. Kavetta leads the W.H.I.P. movement with a strong commitment to intercession, integrity, initiative, and servitude. She envisions the ministry breaking generational, ethnic, geographic and interfaith boundaries.

Through covenant partnership, prayer, and principled teaching, each W.H.I.P. continues to grow in biblical authority, and in her strength in Christ, to fulfill her God-ordained destiny. The Bible teaches us that your gift will make room for you, and many doors have been opened for her to plant seeds through prayer, teaching, and event planning.

On February 15, 2024, our visionary, Min. Kavetta J. Freese, received her total healing and transitioned to be with our Father in Heaven. In honor of our visionary, the W.H.I.P. membership continues the ministry she began over 20 years ago. Sis. Jackie Ealey carries the torch as the W.H.I.P. Overseer.

FOUNDATION.

A native of Canton, Ohio, Sis. Kavetta accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of nine in Antioch Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Reverend W. C. Henderson. She ascended to leadership early as a member of the young adult choir and as an AWANA Youth Ministry Leader.

FAITH.

Kavetta and her husband, Keith, have faithfully served under the leadership of Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. (Greater St. Stephens Church, New Orleans, LA), and Bishop Larry D. Trotter (Sweet Holy Spirit Church, Chicago, IL) who in 2004 sanctioned W.H.I.P. as a para ministry. They now serve under Pastor David Blunt (Church on the Rock, St. Louis, MO).

To grow in her faith and leadership, Kavetta obtained a certification in Biblical Studies and ministry development. She completed these studies at the Barak Christian School of Ministry and became a licensed minister in June 2019.

Kavetta is also known as a creative powerhouse that demonstrates her God-given talents without reservation. She enjoys culinary arts and is an accomplished fashion designer, seamstress, and interior decorator. Fashion has always been her passion and her design gifting was the conduit to her calling with women. She began her ministry by assisting women in the redesign of their outer image. She now utilizes W.H.I.P. as a vehicle of encouragement for women as they allow God to redesign their image from the inside out.

FAMILY.

Keith and Kavetta are the proud parents of four beautiful children Lonnie (Pud) and Kavetta (VeVe) Mathis, and Jason and Jamie Freese. They are also grandparents to Deante, Elysea, Dinetra, Quintez, Lee Shawn, Kamyia, Emerson, Eva, and twins McKinley and Jordan.

The History of W.H.I.P.

 A VISION IS GIVEN

Sis. Freese received a clear call from the Lord to use prayer as a means to usher women into bonded relationships that exhibit respect, trust and compassion.  This vision of Women Hallowed In Prayer (W.H.I.P.) was birthed as a result of Sis. Freese being placed in various leadership positions throughout her life in hospitals, social and political arenas and also in the church where she witnessed just the opposite taking place with women of all cultures, social status and race.  God’s burden in her heart revealed that the true mark of a W.H.I.P. is the act of courage so that all women in the Body of Christ can fully embrace and fulfill their Godly mandate.

FROM VISION TO BIRTHING

In October of 2002, after struggling with the vision for months, Sis. Freese finally submitted to the will of the Father and wrote the vision as God directed. The vision began to unfold quickly and Sis. Freese sought counsel, as well as the blessing, from her spiritual covering, Bishop Larry Trotter in May, 2003.  His counsel for her was simple and straightforward: “Go Forth!”  Prayer lines began to form throughout the U. S. and W.H.I.P. was officially launched in July of 2003.

THE VISION FOR FELLOWSHIP UNFOLDS

On April 18, 2004, W.H.I.P. was sanctioned by Bishop Trotter and recognized as a para-church ministry of Sweet Holy Spirit in Chicago, Illinois. Then in May, the first W.H.I.P. Assembly was held in Frankenmuth, Michigan.  At that gathering Sis. Freese testified of the healing hand of the Father after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She also clarified and gave a contrast of a whip in the natural and Women Hollowed In Prayer in her Inaugural Assembly message entitled “Is There a W.H.I.P. in The House?”

EXPANSION: DEMOGRAPHIC GROUPS FORMED

In 2005 the Lord revealed the expansion of the ministry to two specific demographics: singles and youth with the S.S.S.H.I.P. for (Strengthening Single Sisters Hallowed in Prayer) and Y.W.H.I.P. for (Young Women Hallowed in Prayer). The ministry leaders observed a need for wives, so in 2006; the ministry of Wives in Warfare (W.I.W.) was birthed.

PRAYING THE WORD

Sis. Freese had a burden for the teaching of scriptures that should be incorporated into prayer that launched the teaching line of “What Does God Say about That?” with a subtitle for 2022 of “Winning Souls, WHAT DOES THAT LOOK LIKE?”

PRAISING HIM FOR MORE!

In 2009 the W.H.I.P. scholarship was launched.  Recipients have been awarded $1,000 and $500 scholarships over the years.

Two books have been published and released, one entitled Seven Facets of Worship and the second entitled Heart Healing Prescriptions from Women Hallowed In Prayer that consisted of prayers written by W.H.I.P. women across the nation.

W.H.I.P. sponsors a yearly outreach event, in the month of February called Operation Bridging the Gap, which is a mother and daughter affair. God had laid it upon our hearts in 2010 to begin bridging the gap in 2011. The affair is fun as well as inspirational for the mothers, daughters, speakers and W.H.I.P. sisters.

In December 2018, W.H.I.P. leader Sis. Jackie Ealey held the first W.H.I.P. assembly in Harare, Zimbabwe, Africa.

In March of 2019, W.H.I.P. began a prison ministry with incarcerated women and held it’s first visit in May.

On June 9,  2019, Sis. Freese became an ordained minister.
